Well, this one’s a pretty groovy switch-up. One of the most powerful parts of gratitude is switching “I got to do this” to “I get to do this.” My son actually, Oliver, will sometimes catch me. Like, I’ll be like, “Oh, I gotta go here.” And he’s like, “You got to or you get to?” I mean, come on being schooled by my son on the fine points of gratitude.
So, look in your life where you can switch.
“I got to go to the gym.” No, “I get to go to the gym.”
“I got to go get groceries.” No, you get to go get groceries.
“I got to go for a walk.” No, no, you get to go for a walk.
How profound and how groovy would your life be if everything was “I get to,” not “Oh, I got to.”?
Then gratitude’s just sitting right there tickling you, making you smile.
All day long. Gratitude. Yeah.

Back in 2019, I have the honor of visiting St. Jude, and I am so grateful to have the opportunity to support such an amazing organization. We have donated many times to this wonderful organization, and I thank you all for your tremendous support of this organization.
Your son Oliver is a wise young man and just too cute too. Sooo… true we get to. Being ABLE and getting to do things in life is a blessing. We sometimes may overlook how fortunate we are. There is always something or many things to be thankful and grateful for.
It is so obvious you have been a wonderful father to Oliver. Sometimes our children remind us of things we taught them. So proud of you and Oliver.
I love it when our children teach us, and remind us to focus on what matters! Good for Oli! And thanks Paul for sharing his wisdom with us.
Oli is a very thoughtful young man. I like his attitude toward life. So for me gratitude is a way of life. Like if I the only parking space is further from the store than I would like I remind myself that I am able to walk the distance without assistance, and I thank God for that.
